More Bamboo

Good Fortune Journal
Happiness

Now that I have painted more bamboo, I shall move on to something else. But you can be sure that bamboo will most likely, probable, almost for sure, more than likely show up on my next canvas.

When I say, "move on to something else", I mean I have to start with the seasonal chores. My list is long and I keep trying to include ART on the list.
Like Christmas cards, Christmas stamps, new Christmas tree decorations, Christmas cookies, Christmas cookie cans and homemade Christmas presents. I think I have waited too long to start. I'll save the other part of the list for....

Cookie Fortune

Don't you love cookie fortunes?

They are great reminders sometimes.

I have versatility. A good "Good Fortune".

And you get lucky numbers too.

Here she is. Boy, I really enjoyed painting the bamboo. Only took about two seconds and that is why I'm showing this close up. My camera caught the metallic I used.
I like.

I used more of the same napkin on the left side. The same as the first two pages.

See the butterflies. The one on her shoulder is a transparency. The one on the left side is a transparency transfered. Just thought you'd want to know.

Enjoy, I put the finished complete spread down at the bottom thinking I could see both the before and after together on the blog. We'll see.

Versatility

Good Fortune Journal
Versatility
Isn't that a good fortune to have?
A fortune cookie reminded me that I have it.
Here is an unfinished page. I think she is pretty even in this unfinished sketch. So, I wanted to share her. I found a few artful moment yesterday morning to do this before leaving the house. Then, when I got home after five, I finished it. I will show you the finished page tomorrow.
Will you come back to see it?
I love your visits. And I am so appreciative of your beautiful comments. Thank you.

Energy

Sunday, before my wonderful four days of rest were over, I did another page in my new Good Fortune Journal. The tree illustration was on the page. That's all, just the tree. The page was driven by the "Energy" stencil. I just wanted to make a statement to myself that I did have energy and that was my good fortune Sunday.

ENERGY....
I don't want this to be a long post but I do want to tell my story.

I had another project "started" a while back.....October. I had cut out these little ole mes and the little chairs. Once-and-for-all, I decided to abandon that "started" project for-ever-more. Permission granted.

What the heck? I'll just glue these down in this little book and see what happens.

So I did, along with other bits and pieces. Just fun play. Yes sir re. That's what it was about. ART Play.

It wasn't until yesterday that I started thinking... in the shower. You know where the door has been scrubbed and I can now see clearly. Well I thought how curious it was that I had used Myself sitting in a chair on a page about energy. Not once but twice. Then I remembered that I had spent the middle two days of my holiday sitting in a chair just as blank as could be. That little devil......Norah's sitting there too. I guess Norah's mind wasn't blank. I imagined here conjuring up this whole little page and project all the while just sitting in the chair with me.

For those of you who do not know, Norah'S my muse. She is me and she surprises me all the time with stuff like this. Just like that butterfly that was added in the middle at the bottom of the page. I had to stop with the picture taking to glue it down. She insisted. Well then I had to take another picture.

So, since this turned out to be about my muse, I decided to join in Michelle Ward's Street Team Crusade No 14. For more good stuff about everybody's muse go to the Street Team site.

Good Fortune

Beware.
I think I am about to rattle incoherently.

I sat Friday and most of Saturday with a blank mind.

Looking into a window-like screen with obsession. Watching more than once the same offerings. Why do they do that?

For blank minds?

Feeling guilty.

Wasting precious time.
Discovering with help from bbff (best blogger friend forever) that it is OK.

Saturday morning I scrubbed the shower door.
Now I can see through.

It was like clearing the blankness away.

When the door was finished, I stepped out of the blankness.

And whacked my hair again.

It doesn't matter.

I have wisdom.

"There Are Men Too Gentle To Live Among Wolves"

My new Good Fortune Journal.

And Cookie Cans for Miss Princess.

An extra for Elizabeth.

She 'hearts' my cans.

Special delivery.

Not mailing.

Stamps from "Meme" stamps.

Meme is my Amelia.

My Amelia is my Mother.
My Mother had wisdom.

Couldn't think about which photo to show.

Round things don't have an ending.

I have wisdom.

So.
Before the day was totally gone, I painted.

Cans and paper.

I used my new stamp from RO.
I used a new napkin from Suzi.
I used Meme old postage stamps.
I used "Wisdom" stamp from Susan.
I used my wisdom.

I used inspiration to make a Good Fortune Journal.

I don't remember who.
I hope she will leave me a comment to remind me where I was probably weeks ago when inspired to make a good fortune journal.

It will be what it will be....my Good Fortune

Thankful

I am so thankful for a very relaxing filling day. I even worked in a little painting and for today, I will call her "Thankful". I like showing my little pencil sketch and it was done during one of those day dreaming, zoned out, moments at the desk last week. Before I started painting her I received this wonderful little packet from Darla with napkins, a vintage photo, a very generous roll of vintage wallpaper border and a very sweet note. Well you see I have already put the vintage paper to use.
Oh, I must tell you that the little Santa postcard was mailed separate. Darla reused a greeting card to make it. You can see it on her blog too but she needed encouragement to trust the post office without an envelope. See Darla, it arrived in beautiful shape. I loved getting it.

Rose Garden

"Portrait In My Rose Garden"
I get up at the crack of dawn on the weekends. The house is quiet. I make coffee and go straight to my studio. I'm always ready and inspired to finish or start ART.
On weekdays, I languish in bed, awake, but languish none the less. Starting my day by catching up on all that is going on in my world near and far is just a way to delay what has to be done. Go to work.
This week, I have discovered that I can bounce out at the crack of dawn on weekdays too.
I have discovered 30 to 45 minutes to add to my Artful day.
I have discovered that sometimes it is a good thing to clear the way with a few hours of restful slumber.
Last night the rose garden butterfly had landed centered below her chin.
While we rested, it flitted to her shoulder.
If you wonder where my in sketch inspiration came from. Go here. I just could not stop looking at the head wrap. One thing always leads to another. Always.

Dilemma

It is a dilemma. You see I can't tell without showing and I can't show without telling. I know, It's stupid. There is more. What I want to tell has nothing to do with what I am showing. And what I'm showing, I don't want to tell about. And there is the Dilemma.

Here is what I want to tell. I am the recipient of a huge and I mean huge complement. Actually, two huge complements. If you have not been to Zorana's today, please go now. Just click on her name. She has flattered me beyond imagine with what she has done. You must see it. It will take your breath.

Now the second complement is from a Gloria L. I don't know who she is. I think she lurks. I like that. She left a huge complement to me in a comment at Donna Downey's blog.
Anne Marie tipped me off in her comment on my "Saturday" post.

Thank you, Zorana and Gloria L. I am a thrilled recipient of your generous words.

Thank you Anne Marie and everyone who stops by and says hello. Of course, I love lurkers too....cause I am guilty of lurking as well. Your presence inspires me.

OK, an explanation of the fairy bust show. Can I just tell you that while cleaning up the leftover mess from the gift journal, I got distracted by these things. Yes, I picked up the camera, as I do, and found this little "photo session" to be very relaxing.

Delivered

Reporting a great weekend.

The grands caught some fish.

The son mowed for me.

The daughter was her usual sweet hardworking self.

The granddaughter spoiled rotten princess was happy for a Nanacure. She said, "Why spend big bucks for a pedicure when you can come home and get a Nanacure. And it's better too."
She also needed some of these.
The Book has been delivered.
I did photograph the book and will put all the rest of the photos in a Flickr set during the coming week.
Very tired now.
I'm thinking.......what's next.

Delicious Friday

I seldom share from this little at-the-desk "Inspiration" journal. It's my place to just put stuff.

Today, I'm happy that it is Friday. Delicious indeed!

The house will be full this weekend. Ashley home from SFAU for the weekend. Dear Son and 2 grands coming in. Dear Son bringing yard equipment. He feels sorry for his Mom. She won't stop playing ART long enough to play GARDEN.

All Done

Another great ART evening with you guys right there. Darla for sure was hanging right over me and I loved it. Alison was there too. They told me in comments that they would be. So here it is step, by step, by step showing very small changes. When you have time, study them by clicking on the image for a bigger view.

My last painting is always my favorite. Today it is this one. I hope that means I'm getting better and better and that "my style" is evident.

Can't Help It

That's right, I can't help it. I just loved you looking over my shoulder last night as we were up late working on this journal cover.

I didn't get to go home early yesterday. But I did stay on my feet and off the couch after I got there.
It is not finished yet. I just wanted to "show" where I am so far.
Now this bit of "tell" (show & tell), you probably won't get; but it's about the fact that Norah'S always listening to me. I had no idea that she was listening when I told you in an earlier post something about anxious for my next painting and bet I would be using the scroll pattern......
Well, she was and early Monday morning she reminded me. It's so perfect.
I will finish tonight for sure as I am very excited about how this is going.

Sharon

Hello

My camera got home yesterday.
But this is a scan.
Another page is the almost finished Gift Journal. I painted the wall, used a stamp for the crackle lines and a stamp (of course) for the tree limb.
I really just want to say hello. I missed not blogging this past weekend.
I did almost finish this journal.
While controlling the control, I watched "Lifetime" movies 24/7.
May go home early this afternoon to paint the cover. I said May. That will depend on me getting off this blog and getting some real work done so I can maybe leave early.

Sharon

Nice Weekend Ahead

I haven't much to discuss. I mainly want to get past the orange and black cookie mail cans in the prior post.

So, here is another page in the journal I'm working on. It's just a simple photo page.

I have a nice weekend planned; however, I probably will not be able to share by way of show and tell.

The camera, (notice I didn't say my camera) is on a trip. I do have to share our camera.

It is the season here in Texas. No, not holiday season, hunting season. You know what that means!!!!!!
Yep, me doing ART in front of the TV. I control the control. First thing I'm gonna do is set up a little card table, my super duper light, all the necessary supplies, and then the ARTING will commence. I plan to finish this gift journal for gifting next week.

I received urgent demand for more cookies. Ashley said, "Elizabeth and Crystal want cans". I had to eat a whole can of Pringles all by myself just now so I would have two cans to decorate. I plan to commission Master Chef Timothy J to make snickerdoodles to load the cans with.

That's what I'll be doing. How bout you?
